Dig with Darwin

Give those poor ID folks a helping hand!

THE SEARCH IS ON!

'Intelligent Design' insists that science is based upon experience, and experience tells us that all processes leave evidence.  Water cuts river channels; glaciers leave grooves and scratches in rocks; dinosaurs leave footprints; teeth leave marks in sandwiches; surgeons leave tools in patients; and so on.

Thus it follows that an Intelligent Designer will have left his mark. Oh, nothing perhaps quite as grand as a signature on a glacier, but a rush construction job like the Earth is bound to turn up all kinds of tool marks and forgotten bits and bobs... it's just a matter of knowing where to look.

With this in mind, we set out to find evidence of the Designer's work and came up with some intriguing results.

The item below, thought to be one of the most important paleoarcheological finds in history, was discovered in early 2005 by a country parson taking a walk in the Scottish countryside.  Located in a pre-Cambrian formation, it appears to be a carpenter's pencil made of solid gold.  Barely marked and miraculously intact, this find is expected to electrify the ID debate.  Pre-Cambrian rocks are the oldest known to exist, ranging from 600 million to 4.6 billion years ago.

Left: the artifact in the alluvial bed where it was found; millions of years of erosion have served to expose it.

Below: the artifact ready to be cataloged.

We invite you, gentle visitors, to help us by going out in the field with your picks and shovels, pencils and digital cameras, and sending us your very own evidence so we can help decide whether those struggling folks who support ID actually have a case.  Send your best pictures or artwork of the marks left by the Intelligent designer to: idproofs@gmail.com
